STAG CHEMIST

Counter notes

Short reads about everyday medicines sold from the Stag Pharmacy counter. Prices are in pounds and can change when a supplier updates a pack. A pharmacist can still say no if a product is unsuitable.

£6.15

Paracetamol effervescent 500mg, pack of 60

Soluble tablets for short-term pain and fever when swallowing a solid tablet is awkward. Dissolve in water as the pack directs. Do not combine with other products that already contain paracetamol. Adults should stay within the daily maximum printed on the carton. Keep the tube closed so the tablets do not soften.

£4.80

Rapid ibuprofen lysine 342mg, 16 tablets

A faster-release form of ibuprofen for headaches, dental pain, and period pain. Take with food if the stomach is sensitive. People with asthma, stomach ulcers, or certain kidney conditions should ask before buying. It is not the same dose as standard 200mg ibuprofen, so follow this pack only.

£5.40

Alka-Seltzer Original

Effervescent aspirin with an antacid effect, often kept for headaches with an unsettled stomach. Aspirin is not for children. Check other medicines, because aspirin appears in many cold remedies. The fizz is the tablet dissolving, not a sign that the dose should be repeated.

£7.25

Combogesic paracetamol and ibuprofen 500mg / 150mg

One tablet combines two pain relievers. That convenience means you should not add separate paracetamol or ibuprofen on top. Read the age limit on the carton and leave a gap between doses as printed. If pain continues beyond a few days, the counter team would rather see you than sell another box.
